Medical Manual Therapy
Medical Manual Therapy (MMT) is targeted soft tissue work performed by highly trained and experienced manual therapists. This program is prescribed and overseen by our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Specialist physician, Dr. Mark Agre. Following a thorough evaluation, Dr. Agre refers selective patients into this program based upon specific soft tissue or circulation impairments.
Whether to break up scar tissue, manage muscle adhesions, improve connective tissue and mobility or decrease swelling, MMT is always prescribed in conjunction with regular Physical or Occupational Therapy in order to maximize function. At IMPACT, attending regular MMT sessions alongside PT or OT has been shown to dramatically improve therapy outcomes and decrease chronic pain in individuals who qualify.
