Medical Manual Therapy (MMT) is deep tissue work used to break up scar tissue, connective tissue and/or adhesions that have formed. When we identify that a patient is bound up by this our ability to rehab the patient is diminished and we need to go in manually to work with deep tissue.

This does not necessarily feel good to the patient at the time, but they tend to notice increased relief later that day or the next day. We expect the patient will have relief and that we will notice improvement relatively soon and we will not proceed if we don’t believe it’s beneficial to the patient. This form of aggressive deep tissue work will help the patient to get bound up tissue released which will in turn help therapy to be able to progress further with the patient.
